Actually, life is long and I am allowed to take my time.
Reframing the phrase "life is short" as a reminder that we have time.
I recently posted this on Instagram and I’m posting it here, too.
I am not a big “life is short” girl because life is actually pretty long when you think about it 🤔
I’ve been around 33 years. That’s almost 400 months of me being alive. That’s over 12,000 days of me walking on this earth, making plans, doing things, learning, growing, and expanding. And I’m hoping to have AT THE VERY LEAST 12,000 more days to do all of that, depending on what the universe has planned for me.
That’s actually a lot of time to get shit done and to allow amazing things to happen to me.
I get the “life is short” concept, I do. You don’t know what could happen tomorrow. But maybe save that for like a spontaneous trip or getting a slice of cheesecake for dessert, and less for life-altering decisions.
Our concept of time is that it’s scarce. We are rushed to get from point A to point B. We feel rushed to make choices about our careers. We are rushed to get married and have babies at a certain age.
What would happen if we just allowed ourselves to take life a step at a time?
I recently wrote a blog about divine timing and how everything that’s meant to happen, happens exactly when it’s supposed to. The universe plays a role in the timing of your life, too.
So what’s the use of rushing?
Take it easy, my friends. Life is long!
