Tidings of Comfort and Joy 🌟
Merry Christmas to you, may you find joy in the stillness of the season.
“God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen” is one of my favorite Christmas songs. 1. Your girl loves a good arrangement - and I’m not kidding, this one where the Glee version actually slaps. 2. The song itself has such a beautiful message.
Whether you are religious or not, this song is a reminder of why we celebrate this season.
It’s about the birth of Christ, yes, but I like to interpret it as a welcoming of peace. Of Universal love. Of abundance.
“God rest ye merry gentlemen
Let nothing you dismay
Remember Christ our Savior
Was born on Christmas Day
To save us all from Satan's pow'r
When we were gone astray
Oh tidings of comfort and joy
Comfort and joy…”
Rest in God, Source, the Universe, whatever you believe in, meaning trust and have faith in what you believe, that what you worry about, what you seek, will be taken care of in divine timing. Be at peace knowing that this season brings an extra special love - divine providence.
Right now it’s easy to get swept up in the noise of finalizing gifts and wrapping them, making (or avoiding) holiday plans, standing in a slow-moving line at the grocery store, catching up on finances and end-of-the-year goals… but remember that right now, all that’s required of you is stillness.
In that stillness, remember that you are so divinely loved.
Do you feel it? I hope you do.
In that stillness, reflect on what you’re grateful for - for the successes, the lessons, the people we have, and those we have lost, and for every new day bringing new opportunities to change the direction of your life.
In that stillness, take comfort knowing that you are taken care of and all you desire is on its way to you. You are so supported by forces you can and cannot even see.
Merry Christmas to all of you. I’m so grateful to you.
May this season bring you so much peace, and of course, merry tidings of comfort and joy. Comfort and joy.
Be well,
Adele
